With the rugby season coming to a close, Theogony would like to reflect on the most memorable moments, games and plays of the season.
Before the season, there were improvements looking to be made.
“I’m looking to improve our overall focus on the game and improve our game play,” said captain Seamus White.
“We are always trying to get better, that is what we do,” said Coach Nicholas Hildebidle.
“Something I struggled with was cardio because rugby is a cardio intensive sport,” said captain Michael Nolan.
The rugby team backed up their words on improvement.
“We used the skills we were learning in practice and showed it on the field,” said White.
Nolan also said, “We had several new players step up and put in the effort to help the team out … I am proud of our team for not quitting halfway through the season.”
The season was not without its memorable moments.
“A memorable game was vs Holy Family academy,” said White. “We won 18-12, it was an awesome game and we worked together to achieve victory. Also, another memorable moment was scoring a try in our first home game vs Dematha, but anytime I get to take the field with my team is a memorable moment.”
Nolan said about his favorite memory: “I managed to run the ball through a couple kids and bring my team much closer to the try line [in a game against Saint John’s].
Many relationships were also formed this season.
“The best friend I made this season was Clay Taylor who joined the team, worked hard and played varsity on several occasions,” said Nolan.
“I love the brotherhood that rugby creates. These guys are not just my teammates, they are my family” said White.
The Titans fought hard this rugby season, while making great memories along the way. As the season closes, the Titans look to take everything they learned from this season, and carry it with them to next season.
