Alexandria City High School hosted the annual district “Pyramid Concert” on Feb. 26, featuring choirs from ACHS and Francis C. Hammond and George Washington middle schools.
The Hammond Combined Choir performed “This Is Me” and “A Million Dreams” from the hit movie “The Greatest Showman,” and the GWMS Combined Choir performed “Follow the Drinking Gourd,” in addition to “Canta Conmigo,” while the GWMS Advanced Choir performed “La Musique.”
Later, the ACHS Mixed Combined Choir performed “Interra Pax” and “In Her Soul!,” the school’s Advanced Honors Choir performed “Measure Me Sky” and “Soon I Will Be Done” and the school’s Colore Dolce (women’s choir) performed “I want To Die While You Love Me” and “The Battle Of Jericho.”
For the grand finale, all choirs performed together in a rendition of “Yo Vivo Cantando!,” which translates to “I live to sing!”
