The Titan Theatre Department is bouncing back into action with this year’s production of Shakespeare’s comedy, Twelfth Night. After an impressive prior year of Bring It On and Everything Happens At Night, the Theatre Department is time traveling to an old classic written in the early 1600s, but bringing it to a new light in a 90s theme.
When identical twins, Viola and Sebastian, crash during a thunderstorm at sea, neither knows that the other survives. This leads to a show of mistaken identities, mean practical jokes, and gender bending to conform to a new land. Come to the show to laugh for days to come.
Starring in the show are Georgia Anderson and Jacob Perlman as the two twins, Viola and Sebastian respectively. Also starring are Aniah Thomas as Olivia, Lucy Hunicutt as Sir Toby, and Alena Sanchez as Orsino. The show is being directed and produced by Hope Bachman and student director Quinn MacBride.
Twelfth Night opens on November 8 and will continue for two weeks with shows on Nov. 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16. The Critics and Awards Program (Cappies*) will be critiquing the show on its second night, November 9. Youth Theater Night will be on the 15, where students from middle school and local youth theaters are encouraged to come support the production.
Tickets for all nights can be purchased on the show’s website. They are $5 for students, staff and senior citizens, and $10 for adults.
*Cappies is an international program where student critics attend other school’s productions and critique them.
