Football

With a 6-4 record to close the season, the Alexandria City Titans made it to the Class 6 Virginia High School League playoffs. Titan players, including Seniors Lucas Callahan, Alpha Jalloh, Matthew McFillin, Jamar Cannon Jr., Thomas Skinner and Jamonie Williams, are continuing their season in their first playoff game on Friday Nov. 14 at Fairfax. Winning their first game against Lake Braddock 32-0 and later demolishing Lewis 71-0, players and coaches are satisfied with their outstanding season. Major games this season included Neon Out on Sept. 19, which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the movie “Remember the Titans,” and the Homecoming game on Oct. 24.
Volleyball

This season, girls volleyball reached the quarter finals in the regional tournament and ended with a record of 10-17. The Titans beat West Potomac 3-1 as their first win of the season, and the first victory against West Potomac in several years. Girls volleyball says goodbye to seniors Margaret McCommons, Eleanor Lawson, Alicia Randall, Eliana Hartman, and Alexandra Penczar.
Boys volleyball has a record of 7-18 this season. Despite losing the Region B championship on Thursday Nov. 6 against Woodson, they still qualified for the state quarterfinals due to being one of the top two teams in the region. This quarterfinals game is on Saturday Nov. 15 against West Springfield at 5 pm. Similar to the girls, the boys team got their first win against their rivals West Potomac winning 3-2. This season, boys volleyball says goodbye to seniors Oscar Bentson, Sean Nakane, Emmett Tran, Brannon Pullium, Thomas Do, Luke Hales, Jack Wojda, Moustafa Abdelsadig, Kurt Heidmann, and Aryan Mohhamed.
Golf
This fall season, Tyler Stone, James Hughes, Conor Fagan, Avery Altenburg, John Dillinger, and Ethan Podolsky all qualified for districts. Though the team had a losing season overall, players told Theogony that they grew a lot individually and as a team. The Alexandria City High School golf team says goodbye to Connor Fagan, Potter Hopfensperger, James Hughes, Jenna Payne, Ethan Podolsky, Nicolas Rohrbach, Daisy Soisuvarn, Emma Stanley, Tyler Stone, and Claire Williams.
Field Hockey

Starting the season off strong on Sept. 25 with a 2-1 win in overtime against Herndon,contributing to their 5-12-1 season record, the Titans field hockey team showed great promise. Later also beating Woodbridge 3-0 on Sept. 30, and Edison 6-0 on October 10, it proved to be a solid season. The mostly senior team is sending off Peyton Turnbull, Ainsley McDermott, Caroline Deering, Taryn MacMahon, Sofia Barile, Gaetanina Verhoeven, Michelle Revah-Tacher, Eleanor Bright, Isabella McLemore, Lyla Pinkos, Ariana Escobar, Megan Baisley, Lara Forbes and Eliot Sokolove. Despite losing a whopping 14 seniors, the Titans are excited for what is to come next year.
Cheer

While the Titan Cheerleaders have yet to finish their season, they received “Sideline Week 4 Cheerleaders of the Week” on Oct. 2, highlighting their spirit and hard work. This designation is part of a weekly series on local news outlets acknowledging the importance of particular cheerleading teams. The Titan Cheer team will also be a part of the Alexandria Holiday Invitational Cheer Competition on Sunday, Dec. 14 at the ACHS gymnasium from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Though they still have the basketball season to look forward to, the Titan Cheerleaders honor their only senior Columbia Isadora Lara Cabanas.
Cross Country
With an overall successful season, the Titan cross country team tackled the VA Showcase on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville with Linnea Caldwell and Quinn McGlinchey placing first and second. The Alexandria City Titans also won the City Championships, getting top nine in girls JV and top three in boys JV, winning both the JV races and the girls varsity race. This was a great way to close out the season especially for seniors Jackson Dundon, Langlie Ferrick, Linnea Caldwell, Merrill Plotkin, Laela Ferrick, Sienna Adams and Chloe Adams. Lastly, congratulations to senior Linnea Caldwell for making it to states which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8.
