Wrestling

The ACHS wrestling team took the Patriot District and Occoquan Region meets by storm, and are now looking forward to competing in states from Feb. 19-21. Swaiya Marshall placed 2nd place in Patriot District and 4th in Occoquan Region, qualifying for states. Ryan Pyke, who placed 3rd in Patriot District and 4th in Occoquan, and Jacob Valentine, who placed 4th in Patriot District and Occoquan, also both qualified for states.
Swim and Dive

The Titan Swim team broke several school records at Regionals on Feb. 13- 14, including the men’s 200 medley relay (1:34.87) and the 200 free relay (1:27.80), held by Finn Koeppen, Jonathan Ramsdell, Tobias Damico-Lassman, and Leo Ellis. A special congratulations to Koeppen who placed 4th at finals in the 200-freestyle and will be competing at states on Feb. 21, accompanied by Damico-Lassman who will be swimming the 50-freestyle after placing second in finals as well as the 100 freestyle in which he placed first with a new team record of 45.87. Along with them, Ramsdell will also be attending after placing third in finals in the 100 breaststroke while also breaking a team record with a time of 58.38. Finally, though falling short of states, Ramsdell broke another team record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.90 along with Eleanor Aiken also breaking the 100 breaststroke team record with a 1:08.37.
Track

Titan track athletes Claire Pantuck and Jamar Cannon won Alexandria Sportsman’s Club awards. Cannon won the athlete of the month award for the boys. Cannon is a district champion high jumping senior who can jump six foot six. Claire Pantuck won the athlete of the month award for the girls. Pantuck is a five time national qualifier and currently holds the school’s 4×800 relay (9:19) and the 500m dash (1:16.59.)
10th grader Sophie Meisner broke the 1000m school record at regionals with a time of 2:56.92. Meisner also broke the school record for the 4×800 meter relay. Kevin Coates, Merril Plotkin, Bernard Johnson, and Jamar Cannon qualified for states in the 4×200 relay. Coates also qualified for the 55 meter dash for states. Pantuck qualified for the 300 and Cannon qualified for the high jump. Laela Ferrick and Austin Haupt qualified in pole vault for states.
Pantuck also qualified in the 500 meter dash for nationals and Meisner qualified for the 1000-meter, as well as the 4×400-meter relay where she’ll compete alongside Meisner, Lucy Keen, and Alissa Grutza. Pantuck, Meisner, Linnea Caldwell, and Dahae Meserole broke the school record for the 4×800 relay and qualified for nationals in the same meet.
College Signings

On Feb. 5th, eight ACHS seniors signed contracts to officially cement the continuation of their athletic careers in college.
