Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) partnered with the city government and the Virginia Department of Health to get teachers COVID-19 vaccines as in-person school approaches for some students. Alexandria is one of the first cities in Virginia to move to Phase 1b of vaccinations, which includes essential workers such as public and private school employees, the elderly, and staff workers in correctional facilities and homeless shelters.

T.C. Theogony and broadcast students had the opportunity to be on PBS NewsHour to speak on the political issues they care about and ask questions for the presidential candidates to answer during the Democratic debates.
Black and Hispanic students have disproportionately low enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses despite making up more than two-thirds of the T.C. population, which has sparked action among some students.

Children with autism and other disabilities have a unique experience at T.C., as they are apart of the special education community and are often misunderstood by their typical peers. Five mothers of children with disabilities -- Mildred Rivera, Yolie Carrasco, Isabel Garcia Rosell, Omeima Khidir and Heather Trammell -- started doing school presentations to educate the student body about the experiences their children have as autistic students. They presented to the T.C. Health and Medical Sciences Academy on Tuesday, April 23, continuing at Hammond and the Alexandria Police Department.
The TV channel C-SPAN held a student-led documentary competition, called StudentCAM, to initiate growing interests in TV media production journalism and to celebrate students' TV media skills. This year's theme was “What Does It Mean to be American?” Students were prompted to create a six to seven minute documentary analyzing the topic.

As of fall 2018, the population of T.C. Williams High School has reached 3,959 students. It is the largest four-grade high school in Virginia, and ACPS is bracing for an additional 1,200 more students to enroll along with the 860 current students at Minnie Howard.
“It’s one thing to know the Constitution. It’s another to know the Constitution and look at how they [lawmakers] have neglected to follow their own laws,” explained Ra Alim Shabazz, the coach and sponsor of the We the People team.
