New Teacher Profile: Veronica Jackson

Jackson came to T.C. from Hammond Middle School where she taught orchestra for eight years. Before teaching at Hammond, Jackson taught in Henrico County Public Schools in Richmond, Virginia from 1994 until 2012 when she moved to Alexandria. This is her 29th year of teaching.

Do you want to get involved in the community? Do you need service hours? Do you want to build your college resume? Then volunteering is perfect for you. Don’t know where to start? There are many different places and events for teenagers to volunteer right here in Alexandria. Below are some events and organizations that are looking for teenage volunteers!
This past summer, SAPCA Coordinator Emma Beall and ACAP Youth Engagement Specialist Joy Kone facilitated a training about targeting social media messages towards teens with ACAP’s six Youth Peer Educators who are all students at T.C. Williams High School.

Emma Beall Back in Alexandria

Emma Beall is working to prevent Alexandria teens from pregnancies and drug and alcohol abuse through a new program that she oversees, the Substance Abuse Coalition of Alexandria (SAPCA). Beall, who is a T.C. class of 2013 graduate, earned her Masters Degree at Tulane University in five years and then went to work on solving youth public health problems.
