James Libresco

James Libresco, Co-Editor in Chief

James Libresco ’25 was co-editor in chief for the 2024-25 school year and primarily covered education, city politics and breaking news. He also enjoyed highlighting difference-makers in the Alexandria community.

Libresco managed Theogony’s website, social media accounts and breaking news rapid response, in addition to the Voices Unbound advocacy campaign. He was the first producer of Theogony Unwrapped.

Libresco’s reporting has led to million-dollar budget changes, uncovered public policy errors with legal ramifications and ignited community reckonings.

His work has been published in The Alexandria Times, The Alexandria Gazette Packet and The Zebra, among other outlets. He is also student body president, a varsity basketball player, an ambassador for Morgan’s Message and a school lead for Students Demand Action.

In 2025, Libresco was honored as Virginia’s student journalist of the year by the Virginia High School League.

You can contact Libresco, who will be attending Brown University, at [email protected] or securely via Signal at jlibresco.39.
