After a long school day, Carlos Gonzalez, originally from Puerto Rico, works the bus loop alongside his fellow assistant principals. But working the bus loop is only one of the many day-to-day duties of this band-teacher-turned-assistant-principal.  

Michael Burch is in his second year as an assistant principal in Academy 3. Previously the assistant athletic director and volleyball coach at Alexandria City High School, Burch is passionate about extracurricular activities and encourages students to get involved. 

In the first Principal’s Chat of 2022, Alexandria City High School Principal Peter Balas covered a wide range of topics, including the schedule for choosing next year’s classes, the recognition of the ACHS counselors by the American School Counselor Association, and the dates for prom and graduation for the Class of 2022.
