The ACHS Choir is a staple school program that is regularly recognized on state and national levels. Comprised of an Advanced choir, Mixed Concert choir, and Colore Dolce (women's choir), the group is led by Conductor Theodore Thorpe III. They have had an excellent year, collecting “Superior” ratings left and right, and winning competitions against schools from across the country.
Photo story: At the ACHS Music Department’s Fall Concert on October 26, the Advanced Choir, Wind Ensemble, Virtuosi Orchestra and Jazz Band “A” performed. Each of these groups is the most advanced level of its ensemble type.
On March 18 and 19, ACHS choir was judged on their tone, diction, dynamics, and more. On a scale of one to five, they received the best score in every category and later accepted their well-earned award. They were competing against other high school areas, such as Fairfax, Falls Church, and more, the 77 combined student choir won a one in each category, showing off their talents.
