TV Media students do a lot more than just produce the morning announcements. This year, students from ACHS’s TV & Media Production classes placed in two major competitions -- SkillsUSA’s national Broadcast News Production competition and C-SPAN’s Studentcam documentary competition. On Monday, May 8, a ceremony honored the seven students who placed. Attendees included Superintendent Dr. Melanie Kay-Wyatt and C-SPAN Director of Education Craig McAndrew. The event was emceed by senior Jacob Sanchez.

New Schedule, New Curriculum for PRIDE Time in Fourth Quarter

The start of the fourth quarter has brought along with it a slightly changed class schedule: instead of having the Titan PRIDE (Positive attitude, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination and Excellence) block with 3R and 4B teachers, ACHS students will instead spend this extra thirty minutes with their 1R and 2B teachers before switching to lunch or their next classes. Additionally, the PRIDE lessons have been replaced with activities from an entirely new curriculum.

The Titan Morning Announcements show, formally known as Everyday Titan, has been bringing smiles to the face of students and staff every morning since 2007. Although, the hosts of the show alternate every five weeks and it is hard for viewers to get to know the students that make the show a success. Discover what it is like to be the host of TMA and get to know Alexandria City High School’s very own TV personalities.
